AMCA Committees

Various committees, as listed below, are formed for the involvement of our member companies in industry-related activities.

•Apprenticeship Committees. (One for the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters and one for Sheet Metal) They meet on a regular basis to oversee the apprenticeship programs.

•Code Committee. This committee exists to resolve any code issues that may arise related to the industry.

•Education Committee. It offers continuing education for maintaining the State od Alaska administrative licensing requirements and other educational opportunities as they become available.

•Legislative Committee. It brings to the member’s attention the different legislative actions that affect the industry.

•Negotiating Committees. (One for the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters and one for Sheet Metal) They work with the two unions on contract negotiations as well as settling issues between contract renewal times.

•Service Committee. It works with the contractors in service related activities to improve training and the service industry as a whole.

•Sheet Metal Industry Committee. It works with the sheet metal contractors to provide training and advertising opportunities.

•Plumbing Industry Committee. It works with the plumbing and pipe fitting contractors to provide training and advertising opportunities.

•Pension and Health and Welfare Committee. The association provides three trustees for the Plumbers and Pipe Fitting Industry Pension and Health and Welfare Trusts.

* Lobbying Committee.  Works with a professional lobbyist to keep track of issues at the State of Alaska House and Senate.
